He says “Your freshman cover a whole bunch of soft ass n*ggas, tampon lyricists, evacuate the premises”, which further explains my enjoyment for The Game’s bullying because I think these rappers will hear this and want to prove their worth in the rap league and it’s quite evident with the hits we hear today from those in the XXL Freshman Class such as Chance the Rapper and Ty Dolla Sign. It’s no surprise that he used this as a chance to continue his ways, on ‘Bigger than Me’ he disses many newcomers in the industry also known as this year’s XXL Freshman Class (Google for more). We know that The Game is widely known for his diss songs to various artists, I personally love it I think it makes the rap scene more entertaining and in some cases, makes rappers up their game. I can’t say that these two will be the next Game or 50 Cent but I can say that for those that’s interested in this generation’s gangster rap, they are definitely worth researching for previous mixtapes or songs. In regards to lyrical content, there isn’t a line that is amazing but the way he pieces certain phrases together to make them sound better than said normally deserves credit. He definitely makes a bolder statement to me because his flow is more entertaining and inviting. Skeme’s first appearance on the album is on ‘Food for My Stomach’. You can almost assume why The Game signed him, he raps with anger but I like to call it character and that’s a quality that The Game is also known for. However, I can compliment Dubb on his style. Every bar in his verse ends with ‘Motherf*cker’ which is the same idea French Montana and The Game used for their verses prior to Dubb’s, which suggests that it was intentional for the rhythm of the song. It’s hard to credit him on his lyrics due to the fact that his verse isn’t lyrical. Dubb’s first appearance on the album is on ‘Married to the Game’ which is your typical but good rap song. The Game recently founded and started his own record label ‘Blood Money Entertainment’ signing his own artists – ‘Skeme’ and ‘Dubb’, given that this is the first album from the label, this can also be seen as the first real stage for Skeme and Dubb. Maybe in an attempt to create bigger songs with more to offer however, with some fans being angry about this, I will give The Game the benefit of the doubt due to the fact that this album is a compilation album. With this tracklist, almost every song has an artist featuring on it, this will be discussed much later in the review but The Game has clearly used the same idea as he did with ‘Jesus Piece’ and ‘OKE’ which is to have many artists contribute to his project. Drake”, I know that it’s most probably going to be a hit in a few months or so (Biased, I admit). As always, I gave the tracklist a quick glance so that I can assume the vibes from the songs. The One – Kanye West, Big Sean, 2 Chainz & Marsha Ambrosiusġ2.So I was debating with myself about when to review a rap album and which rapper would be the first? Initially, I challenged myself to wait and prepare for the Kendrick Lamar album as we all know that’s going to be a great body of work but then this project came across my way so I thought I owe to myself to write this up since I am a fan.
